Fili's narration was a lying sack of lies. But Riley followed after him, eyes swaying along with the booty until he scrambled onto the bed. Coming in, she set the tray down in the middle, then crawled up on the other side, looking at the spread with a happy sigh. "Okay, so, fried chicken or chicken salad first?"
And maybe her hand snuck under the tray to slide along his leg. Maybe.
He hummed at the question at first, but then found his breath cut short at the all too casual touch along his leg. Still, he said nothing to it, smiling knowingly and arching an eyebrow at her. Oh, but she was a terrible temptress - luckily he still was quite a bit hungry, and the food smelled delicious enough that his attention wasn't diverted quite so easily.
"Fried chicken, please." Did he eat it just like that? Or was he supposed to add something else to it first? In the end he decided to let her hand it to him instead, since she would know better.
She stole her hand back, then took one of the pieces and broke it in half. Steam billowed up, but the meat was white and juicy and she made a pleased sound. "You can add salt to taste if you like, but there's seasoning in it, so you might not want to." She did, though. Just a tad, and she took a piece and handed it to him, then added a sprinkle to her own and broke off a smaller piece to pop in her mouth, chewing quickly. Yes, Fili, fried chicken was frickin' hot.
He would do the same as her, since she was more used to this dish, and as she gave him the chicken, he copied her as well, breaking off a smaller piece of the meat, then popping it in his mouth. It was hot, yes, very much so, and he kept his mouth open and took quick breaths as if to let it cool, only chewing and swallowing once he didn't feel it burning his tongue.
"It's good!" He smiled and nodded, peeling off a little of the crunchy outer layer and trying it by itself. Humming, he then bit off another piece from the chicken, practically scarfing it down once it wasn't quite so hot anymore.
She broke the other pieces in halves, helping them cool more, then finished her piece before she reached for one of the rolls. "Now for something a little different." The roll was broken in half, warm on the inside so a little butter half melted on it. Then she forked a generous helping of the salad onto it, closing it up and handing it over. "Voila." She licked her fingers, waiting to see if he'd like that as she made another.
That earned a more curious look from him, as he watched her prepare the roll, sucking his fingers clean and then accepting the food as she handed it over to him. It took a little balancing there, not wanting any bit of salad to fall off, then tipping his head back just so, he took a big bite out of it, humming as he chewed and swallowed.
The roll threatened to fall apart in his hands, though, so before making too much of a mess, he shoved the rest into his mouth, his cheeks all stretched out and filled up with food, and he slowly chewed the mouthful of chicken salad roll before he managed to choke on it.
"Silly dwarf," she chastised, gesturing to the water. "No killing yourself via food. I've just gotten to start getting to know you and I'd like that to continue, please and thank you."
But oh my god, yes. He was too much like that. She laughed.
"Mm hmmfh--!" Which, of course, made no sense to her, just like it didn't to him. So he reached for that water first, managing to swallow down a good portion of the food, then washing down the rest with a large gulp of water.
"Don't worry, we dwarves can shove quite a lot of food into our mouths. This is nothing - you should see us at our parties back home."
"Yeah? I can just imagine. So," she looked down at her own sandwich, playing coy, though she was being a brat. "Are all dwarves like you? If I wound up in a dwarf party, would it just be row after row of gorgeous blonde braided men with finely toned butts?"
"Why? Are you planning to replace me for a superior specimen already?" Said in tone of joke, of course, as he arched an eyebrow at her. "But no, I truly meant it when I said most of us can be a bit fat. There are some that are more muscled, like me or even more so, but the blond hair is a rarer thing. Brown or black hair is more common among dwarves, although red hair is a rarity, even more so than blond - truly valued among our kin."
"I like you blonde. And just like you are." She passed over another sandwich, making another for herself and sliding in some of the fried chicken. Mix and match time. "Are you a family type? Clans and such. Or more on your own?"
Copying her there, he added some of the fried chicken onto his own sandwich, taking a small and quick bite from it this time. "Family is very important to dwarves, yes. And we live in enclosed settlements within mountains, dwarven kingdoms. No dwarf really ever is on his own. Not that I know of, at least." For all he knew, there may be one or another living their lives all alone, somewhere in Middle Earth, but he didn't think it very likely.
"And you've got your brother here, right? So you're not alone." Because if that was important to him and his well being? That was kind of important to her too. After the initial need to cram food in her mouth, she managed to slow down, take her time, enjoy the actual flavors of it -- and through it all, she watched him. Seeing what he liked. What he didn't. Making little notes about him.
Well, at this point it looked like he liked pretty much everything. He was easy to please when it came to food, but also everything she had prepared was delicious, so of course he ate with clear pleasure.
"It is true, I'm not," he nodded, lowering his sandwich in-between bites, and swallowing before he smiled at her. "And not just because of Kíli."
"Good," she gave him a grin, lopsided because of a full cheek. But the worst of her hunger was appeased and now she was shifting on the bed, sliding a foot under the tray to rest against his leg, toes tickling at him and with the most innocent of looks on her face. "I'd hate to think of you being all lonely somewhere..."
He didn't even manage to get through half that sandwich when she slid her foot underneath the tray, but at least he didn't choke on the bite he had in his mouth. Straightening up at the first touch, he swallowed down that food first, then set down the sandwich as he slipped a hand under the tray too, fingers trailing up from her foot. "Then you best make sure to remedy that... whenever it happens."
"Consider it my most important mission." Her foot moved further up his leg, eyes lighting as his hand touched her leg. "You know, if you've, ah, sated the bigger part of that gargantuan hunger of yours, I'm just going to put the tray down on the ground. And then I'm going to get back to... making you not feel so lonely."
"Will you?" He all but murmured, the food all but forgotten for now. His fingers trailed farther up, almost reaching her knee, then sliding back down to her foot. And now that his other hand was free, it slipped under the tray as well, joining the first. "That seems like a very good idea to me. Excellent, even."
There was something a little satisfying about food being secondary to her (or him), and she had a wide smile as she moved to grab the tray, turning so that her lower half stayed on the bed, legs curling over his lap, upper body twisted so she could lower the tray to the floor. "I do occasionally have a good one. Like ones that involve climbing in your lap and making sure you still taste better than the chicken."
He moved as she did, but only to shift onto his knees, and sitting back on his heels. His hands trailed as far up her legs as he could while she moved, leaning down briefly to plant a soft kiss to the skin just above her knee. Once the tray was set on the floor and out of the way, as well as the bottle of water he'd been drinking from, he started tugging her closer, helping her back onto the bed. "You should make that one happen, then. Just so you are sure."
Turning back towards him was easy, especially when he was being so helpful. She got up on her knees, hands coming up to slide into his hair before tipping his face up for a kiss. The kiss, of course, was a distraction as she moved to make him sit back on his knees so she could straddle his lap. "Always good to be sure." Her voice was soft against his lips, hands combing through his hair as she nipped at him, licked at lips and past them in to tangle her tongue with his. "Mm... even better."
He sat back on his heels all too promptly, barely needing any coaxing at all when she moved closer to him, and he pulled her even closer still as she parted her legs to his sides and straddled him. He grinned and chuckled a bit into the kiss, closing his eyes and tipping his head to deepen that contact for a moment, reluctant to pull away even as they stopped to talk. "Well, I don't know if it beats chocolate, but..."
Teasing her there, of course. There was no amount of chocolate in all the worlds that would make him even think about not kissing her.
Her nails moved up to scratch lightly through his beard under his chin to tip it up more, dropping small kisses along his lips and purring softly. "Oh, it definitely beats chocolate." She sat lightly, not wanting to put too much weight on him, though she had a feeling if he knew that, he'd try to take it all because dwarves were pretty solid. Everywhere. Just... men made from rock and skin and she couldn't stop touching him, that craving need coming back and replacing the other hunger she'd sated.
She did not put much weight at all on him, in fact she was light as a feather, so far as he was concerned, at least in this form. He could have easily carried her sitting on one of his shoulders, and perhaps if she knew that then she would stop trying not to rest all her weight on him.
His chin tipped up as prompted, grinning softly at her words as he returned each lazy kiss. Letting his hands roam over her skin, up her back and down her sides, up again to follow the curve of her shoulders, he nodded. "You're right. Much, much sweeter."
Kissing him with another quiet purr, one of her hands snuck down between them, searching for his cock and teasing fingers lightly over it when she found it. She was in no rush, but she at least wanted to start him on the path to play time. "If this is my reward for distracting you from work, I'm gonna do it a lot more often."
